Copying backups over WAN to another server?
I’m planning on copying my database and potentially server backups to another server off-site. This server would be on an entirely different continent but within our network.
Does anyone see any potential problems with doing this? The pipe between here and the other site is pretty large and the copying of backups would occur afterhours.

I don't see any problem to do this. Just make sure that your transfer will be done making the transfered datas encrypted.

Hi techieplaya,
Based on my knowledge ,
I suggest to using FTP to transfer lager file over internet.
Many FTP utilities support resume and transfer of large files ,so it could avoid retransfer file when encounter network issue.
And for security reason, the best choose is to using security-FTP, like SFTP and
FTPS.
Hope that’s helpful
