Hi,
What did you mean by convert? If you want to make this computer as a member server in an existing environment, you can add this computer to the domain. If you want to make this computer as a domain controller, the situation is totally different. So please provide more information about your environment and your concern.
Best Regards,

Hi Muchservices,Vincent is correct , if you want to add your windows 2008 server to domain you can go to computer properties and add your system to domain if you want to make the server as Domain controller , then you need to use dcpromo from command prompt . If you are planning to add your windows 2008 as an ADC in exisiting windows 2000 / win 2k3 then you have to prepare for adprep /forestprepadprep /domainprepfor RODC adprep /rodcprep

Allow me to rephrase my post. This is a fairly new install with only 1 server and numerous clients. This server was setup as a workgroup rather than a domain. I would like to make this server a domain controller.Thank YouKirk

Hi,When you create the first Active Directory domain controller in your organization, you are also creating the first forest, the first domain andthe first site.I suggest reading TechNet Library before you start:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771433(WS.10).aspx
