Connecting to Operations Management Suite from SCOM 2012R2 UR7

Hi,

I have SCOM 2012 R2 installed and recently decided to configure System Centre Advisor.

In SCOM I go to Administration/Operations Management Suite/Connection and click on Register to Advisor Service, I enter in all the relevant details but when I click on finish I get the following error: Error 2200: Unable to register to Advisor Server. Please contact the system Administrator.

I can access Advisor fine via the web browser but when trying to connect it to Operation Manager the above error comes up.

Running UR7.

Any ideas? Is Operational Insights Or Operations Management suite actually operational or still in Test mode?

(the doco at https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/operational-insights-connect-scom/ seems confused with terms like Operational Insights being used, but in the SCOM console Advisor Service is being used as well as Operations Management Suite. Is this a course in English synonyms ???) It is very confusing.

Thx,

John Bradshaw

Pls. try this
1. The OMS workspace has not been created prior to trying to onboard via SCOM. If that is the case please go the Microsoft.com\OMS and create a workspace first and then trying onboarding with the same account.
2. After install or after installing the latest update rollups required the necessary management packs have not been imported in your SCOM management group. In the SCOM console navigate to the administration view and choose to import management packs. Navigate to %SystemDrive%\Program Files\System Center 2012 SP1\Operations Manager\Server\Management Packs for Update Rollups and import the MPs in this folder. Once complete restart the console and try onboarding again.

Where are you running the SCOM console from? on a server OS or a client OS? try running on a client OS, it might be related to your IE security settings.
