Connecting a computer to a network with a DC
I have a PC with WIndows 7. I connected it to a network, that network has a DC and router. The DC is connected to a LAN port of the router, and the new PC has been connected to another LAN port. I have two questions: 1- Is the physical way of connecting the PC the right way? 2- How can I let the PC with Windows 7 be a part of the domain and let the user see the (CTRL+ALT+DEL) screen at startup.Luai Alrantisi, BSc in Computer Engineering, University of Ottawa 2007, Canada. yes the physical part looks ok, of course the network settings need to be correct (the DC and the client need to able to connect to each other, you can use the ping command for a quick check). For #2, just follow the steps in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Connect-your-computer-to-a-domain. hope this helps,David :: Please remember to vote if the info helped you :: Please post back so everyone can benefit from the solution

you have to put this windows 7 pc to the domain.therefore first do the correct ip configuration.you should put your windows 7 pcs dns server as your domain controller(dc).then you can add this computer to the domain. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Connect-your-computer-to-a-domainDarshana Jayathilake
