You should specify in more detailes what you mean, if you want to test "disaster" or disaster recovery. In the latter case you are recommended to have TWO domain controllers and functional backup plan with system state recovery. Regards Milos

Hello, That depends of your actual Active Directory topology. What is recommended is to have at least two DC / DNS / GC servers per AD domain. If you have multiple sites then it is recommended for DR to have a DC with GC in a remote site. Also, you have to schedule system state backups for your DCs and it would be better to externalize them. However, please give more details about your setup so that we can help you.
