Configuration Items - self-services

I read a thread that viewing a configuration items through self-services is not supported

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/7dbe8ce4-2b0a-4e19-90cc-6812bd21e9d0/configuration-item-in-self-service-portal?forum=portals

but I wonder if it is applicable to build a custom website that use SCSM SDK  where we can allow an internet access to our custom assets (view and edit) or if there is a workaround to enable it with self-services

Thanks

Hi,

Maybe the good way is to use Orchestraotr  and SharePoint List to do this.

Orchestrator can  :

  • list, add, delete and modify SCSM CI
  • list, add, delete and modify elements on SharePoint lists.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

as Remy mentioned, this can be done using Orchestrator (obviously you need to configure a Request Offering with the created Runbook in order to use it the SSP).The following link would be helpful

in relation to custom Assets, there are known ISVs that integrate this solution in SM

Hope this helps!
