My company is a subsidiary of a parent that is going to be spinning off and separating from the parent. We are building our own data center and our own active directory that will be completely independent of our parent. There AD and our AD will not be trusted at the end of the day. My question is, I would like to move/copy, our users from their AD to our AD. To make things more difficult, there AD is 2003 and ours is 2008r2. Also there exchange is 2003 and we are doing 2010. What is the best way to move those users over without setting up our domain or forest in a trust relationship with there’s? Baring that can you at least point me in the right direction?

Sorry, the best way would be to set up a trust relationship and use ADMT to migrate the users over. Without either of the two, at best, you can export the user and create new ones via a script. Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.
