Cluster in server 08 .. Can't add iSCSI storage
I have an iSCSI drive on my SAN showing up as my E drive in Explorer. I try to add it as a resource in cluster administrator and I get the error "An error occurred while attempting to bring the resource 'Cluster Disk 1' online. The cluster resource could not be brought online by the resource monitor.I actually have two iSCSI drives and both are showing up in Explorer and are operating fine. Neither of them can be added using the cluster administrator.Any help is appreciated.

Are your disks dynamic or basic? Are they allowing multiple connections and scsi reservations? Most storage problems with clustering is because the iscsi target software/hardware doesn't support the correct standards.some reading (on the topic of storage clusters, not your exact problem):http://www.linglom.com/2008/04/29/getting-started-with-microsoft-cluster-service-part-ii-configure-iscsi-disk/http://blog.baeke.info/blog/_archives/2007/10/24/3311645.htmlTechnet Forums Moderator | Solution Specialist | Ask The Experts IT-forum

Ok. They are both basic discs. I will go check on the reservation part. Thanks.

I'm not sure how to check if they are allowing scsi reservations. I can tell you that when I try to add the disk as storage to the cluster it fails BUT it says "reserved" if you manage drives on the server. I have to blow the disk away in the cluster to get to change to online! Does that help? Not sure ... I'm kind of new to iSCSI so any help you can offer is appreciated.Paul

Hi Paul Take a look at this guide. I do not promote using any 3rd party software, In that way you can use it as an example http://www.starwindsoftware.com/technical-papers Look in; StarWind iSCSI Target: Using StarWind with MS Cluster on Windows Server 2008
