Clearing and saving eventlogs
I have over 200 servers that I need to remotely clear and save the eventlogs for Windows 2008 R2 server. Can anyone suggest a utility? As I said, we have over 200 servers. Thanks, Chris

Hi,
You can use GPO to deploy a startup script to clear and save event logs for your 200 servers. Please refer to this sample:
Script to Clear (and Save) Event Logs
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jjameson/archive/2011/03/01/script-to-clear-and-save-event-logs.aspx
Regarding how to deploy script via GPO you can follow this guide:
Setting up a Logon Script through GPO in Windows Server 2008
http://www.petri.co.il/setting-up-logon-script-through-gpo-windows-server-2008.htm
If you encounter any difficulties when you customize the scripts, you can ask help in the scripting forum which MYousufAli posted.

Cicely

unfortunately we only restart our servers monthly, when we patch them, so we would lose whatever events have been overwritten.
Thanks for the suggestion though! Thanks, Chris
