Cleanspl for Windows Server 2008?
HelloThis may be a silly question, but is there a cleanspl.exe tool or equivalent available for Windows Server 2008? I'm looking for an easy way to "reset" spooler drivers/registry back to normal in an supported way. Thanks!/Ragnar

Hello Ragnar,
Thank you for posting here.
As you may notice that the CLEANSPL.EXE no longer works on Windows Server 2008 machine, this is because that wehave designed to remove iton Windows Server 2008.Our customers have reported that using CLEANSPL.EXE may causethe printer related registry key corrupt or miss, which also leads to the broken of theXPS Writer, Fax, LPR. Therefore, wewant to preventtheusers from potentially damaging their Windows Server 2008 print servers.
Currently, you may manually reset spooler driver by removing the printer driver package in the Print Management snap-in.
Meanwhile, we are aware of the desired functionality that you want. I will report the request as a future product development to our product team. If we have any update, we will let you know the solution as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding.

Hi there, I normally dont like to hijack a post - but this is exactly what i am looking for. (so sincere apologies)Since the CleanSPL is not working on 2008, can you please provide the registry keys and folders that need to be cleaned to force the spooler back to its "clean" status? We have a large number of Terminal servers in production with a print driver installed that we cant delete - no matter what we try. (Its an old AGFA driver that shouldnt be there, causes a lot of headaches and refuses to leave peacefully)* I have tried removing the printer driver / package from within Print manager - No Joy - it tells me its in use (there are no queues on the server - only drivers - no users active, all cached profiles were deleted)* I have tried to remove the driver from registry - No Joy - its back a split second later* I have tried deleting the files used by the driver - unable to delete or rename them (with spooler stopped / started - same effect)* I have tried to overwrite the print environment with a clean backup created using Print brm - the AGFA driver is still there afterwards.Kind RegardsJacqueline
