Changing the serial key for windows servre 2003 service pack II x86
Hello Everybody, Recently my client handed me over a windows server 2003 with Service pack II x86 demo version installed. He wants me to change the serial key, I tried following the Microsoft document which involoved the changes a bit in registry which did not help at all. Also whe I tried modifying the wpa.* file from windows system32 it recreartes the file when you hit %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a. Request you to help me out and resolve this issue. Waiting for your kind reply. Regards, Amit Khamkar.

Hi Amit, Why do you want to change the serial key of a evaluation version? If you are trying to upgrade the trail version, then there is no way you can achieve it with serial change. You need to re-install the OS to upgrade. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservergen/thread/8d09731e-8b56-4425-b491-6abab61b5fae/ More license related things call http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/contact-us.aspx Try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918342 http://msmvps.com/blogs/clustering/archive/2006/09/18/How-to-change-your-Volume-License-_2800_VL_2900_-key-with-Windows-Server-2003-or-R2.aspxRegards, Rafic If you found this post helpful, please give it a "Helpful" vote. Hi Amit, In your earlier post you said Demo version, so i thought its an evaluation edition. If you still have issues with the product keys, i would recommend you to contact the Microsoft licensing team for better support. and they will guide you all the way. http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/contact-us.aspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328874/en-usRegards, Rafic If you found this post helpful, please give it a "Helpful" vote.
