Changing Licence Key
I am using trial version of Windows 2003 Server and it is going to expire in 12 days. I have the retail version and want to change to the licencse key. I followed the instructions as per Microsoft article# 328874.

Hello Porka,that article only applies for changing a volume license key from one to another volume license key.It does not apply for changing from one media type to another ( Eval media to retail for example is a media type change)Since you have different media, the only way to is attempt to upgrade the eval installation using the retail media.Thanks, Darrell Gorter This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights

Hi Porka, As Darrell has stated, the installation media must match the product key. Meanwhile, for licensing questions, you can call 1-800-426-9400 (select option 4), Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. (PST) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. Regards, Bruce
