Changing Domain Controller
Hi, I have recently created new Child DC and transfered all FSMO roles to the new DC from old child DC. DHCP and DNS is also configured as per my old child DC. for testing when i shutdown my old child DC, outlook 2007 & 2010 clients get again & again password screen, asking for the password. even users are typing the correct password, again screen pop up's for password. I have also installed the all server's CA certificates to TMG, Exchange and new Child DC. When i turn on the old child DC, every thing become's back to normal. Can anyone please help me? Regards, Areeb

Hi Areeb, Make sure that your clients are pointing to the new DC as preferred DNS server, the new DC is also a Global Catalog server. Thanks and Regards, Mukesh. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Make sure your clients and Exchange server is using your new DC/DNS. Please post IPCONFIG/ALL from you DC, client and EX server here. “transfered all FSMO roles” -> Did you transfer all 5 FSMO role to this server or only 3 domain specific. Anyway, please post the result of Netdom Query FSMO also here. Hi, Have you encountered other problems? If so, please describe the issues more clearly. If only Outlook cannot work, this issue can be caused due to Outlook has saved some information of the old domain controller. As a test, please create a new test domain account. Then, please configure Outlook for the new test user. What is the result? Thanks. Nina This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

What version of Exchange are you using? Did you verify the DSACCESS properties? Also, try restarting the exchange server. Hello, please provide the requested output from "ipconfig /all" and "netdom query fsmo". These are essential information to help you with your problem.
