Change a Dimension Name Attribute?

I have 2 dimensions that pull their Facility Name from the same Location Dimension.  The business users want to change Facility Name in the Material Facilities dimension to Material Facility Name, but keep Facilities dimension attribute the same.   What is a good way to go about completing this task.

I would have thought from the data source view , u can change the attribute using an alias for the column , or is there any restrictions on the access for the developer

Hi D Henson,

In Analysis Services, it's not supported to custom the attributes in each instance of role-playing dimension. We have only keep each attribute name same as the attribute in physical dimension. Currently, we only have a work around for customizing attributes name under hierarchy. We can create another hierarchy with custom hierarchy and attributes name. Then we can disable the original hierarchy in cube dimension (role-playing dimension). For more information, please see: Custom Attribute Names in Role Playing Dimensions for SSAS
