Change Local Administrator Password Remotely on bunch of domain member Servers
Hello, We have more than 600 Windows domain member Servers, mix and match of 2003 and 2008/R2. I have been tasked to figure out a way to change the Local Admin Password for all the member servers remotely. This aspect has come in light because of our new IT Secuirty policy which says, we need to change the local admin password on all the member servers per Quarterly basis. I understand that, there is NO built in mechanism to achieve this goal, moreover its a tedious job to manually change password on all member servers one by one. Is there a simpler way to do this, perhaps scripts or anything else ? Any inputs would be much appreciated. ~ Knowledge Seeker

Hi, You can change the local Admin Password remotely with script, see the links below: http://www.techrepublic.com/article/reset-local-administrator-passwords-with-vbscript/5198818 http://community.spiceworks.com/scripts/show/107-change-local-administrator-password-remotely http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2007/07/03/how-can-i-change-the-local-administrator-password-on-all-my-computers.aspx if you have a DC with Windows Server 2008, you can do it with Group Policy Preferences, see the link below : http://tsmith.co/2011/changing-local-admin-passwords-on-the-network/ regards, Cordialement, Oussema FEKIH Note : Si ma réponse vous a été utile, ou apporté une résolution; merci de Voter ou de la marquer comme Utile.
