Certificate creation for other names
Hi Guys,
Possibly a silly question, but hope you can help.
I keep getting this error on my Exchange 2007 server:
Microsoft Exchange could not find a certificate that contains the domain name mailgate-1.domain.biz in the personal store on the local computer. Therefore, it is unable to support the STARTTLS SMTP
verb for the connector ASSP Outbound with a FQDN parameter of mailgate-1.domain.biz. If the connector's FQDN is not specified, the computer's FQDN
is used. Verify the connector configuration and the installed certificates to make sure that there is a certificate with a domain name for that FQDN. If this certificate exists, run Enable-ExchangeCertificate -Services SMTP to make sure that the Microsoft
Exchange Transport service has access to the certificate key.
I figured that I need a certificate with the name specified above (mailgate-1.domain.biz)
The only thing is my domain names are server.domain.CORP, is it possible to create a certificate within this domain with this domain name. Using an enterprise CA on my network.
Or am I going about this the wrong way to fix my problem.
And I am not considering purchasing a 3rd party certificate ;)
Thanks,
-Tim
