Certificate Services Web Enrollment Installation
Hi, I'm looking to migrate our 32-bit Windows Server 2003 SP2 Stand-Alone Root CA to a server running Windows Server 2008 R2. The 2008 R2 server is a shared server running other applications. Does anyone know if there is a way to install the Web Enrollment role service to a website other than the Default Web Site? If not, can it be moved easily once the install is complete? The Default Web SIte is already being used by another application and I'm concerned they may interfere with each other. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply Paul but I can't find an answer to my question on that page. Have you come across my particular scenario before and if so what would be your advice?

you can do it. Just create new web site in IIS manager and point it to %windir%\system32\certsvc folder. Assign 'default.asp' as a default page. For Windows Server 2008 R2 you will have to configure authentication and SSL in order to use this web site.http://en-us.sysadmins.lv

Many thanks Vadims, I'll give it a try.

Hi! I tried to follow your advice, slightly adapting your instructions: on Windows 2008 R2, you need the website to point to %windir%\system32\certsvc\en-US. I configured SSL and authentication on the website, but I keep getting 404 on C:\Windows\system32\CertSrv\en-US\certsrv.asp. This page actually DOES NOT EXIST but it seems as if IIS only redirects to it when one accesses certificate services hosted on a website; I recreated the CertSrv application (as the installer does on the default web site), and it runs fine there. Any ideas? Thanks for your help, ThomasThomas Becker
