Certificate Services, Windows 2008 Standard
hi, i am trying to deploy SCOM 2007 , and read I need to install a CA on my environment, I choose a machien thats on the Domain but not a DC to be my CA I choose root CA. wehn i go thru all the steps, it says I need to load a MMC and load certificate authority adn under that I should see certificate templates, to request a new one. I dont see it, do i need 2008 enterprise to do this? I am hitting my head against a wall any help will be greatly appreciated.

Windows Server 2008, Standard Edition configured as an enterprise CA can only issue certificates based on the default v1 certificate templates. To issue customized v2 or v3 certificate templates, you must be running enterprise edition or data center edition.But, consider looking at Windows Server 2008 R2, which will allow issuance of V1, V2, and V3 certificate templates from Standard Edition.Brian
