Cannot rename certain shred folders on Win 7
Hello there
We have a windows 2008 server which shared folders reside. On Windows7 client machine we cannot rename certain folders because of the following error "The action cannot be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program". we know
no one is accesing that folder across the network. Delete temp files and stop windows from caching the thumbnails as per our research but still no joy.
Please help. more info will be provided upon request.
thanks

Make sure no other application is using this share files. Did you check any sessions or files are open.
Goto Administrative tools > Share and Storage Management
from action pane select Manage Sessions... and Manage Open Files...
Give a try after reboot the server.
Thanks

I have seen that behavior with antivirus real time scanning hitting the folder, stop the servers real time scanner and give it a try-- :P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.
