Cannot install sp1 on Windows 2008 R2 64bit error 0x800f0818
Hi!
I have tried to install sp1 on 10 Windows 2008 R2 servers 64bit. On 8 of them the installation was easy and successful! The two last servers got errors, I managed to install the sp on one of these servers after running the System Update Readiness Tool. However
it did not help on the last server: got the error 0x800f0818. Does anyone have any tips/ suggestion to solve this?
Here is the log file:

Hi,
you must copy files Package_for_KB2393802_RTM~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.mum and Package_for_KB2393802_RTM~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.cat
to folder C:\Windows\servicing\
you can found this files in other windows instalation. Then you can try install SP1. If problem persist you can run command from elevated
cmd:
sfc /scannow
Then you can try install SP1.

Where is this install log located? I am running into the same error on my laptop when attempting to install SP1 for Windows 7. I have installed all other patches that I know of. SP1 seems to be having the issue.

I know this is an old thread, but I am having the same problem on my Win2k8 r2 box. When I try to copy the files above into the \windows\servicing\ folder, I get a "permission denied" (yes, the account I am using has full admin rights).
I ran the sfc /scannow command anyway and it came up clean.

You need to get exclusive permission
Try this and it should fix your issue

What if we're unable to find these files? I'm just now getting a machine that requires Sp1.
It's such a cluster. We need a new virtual machine with Svr2012. In order to get that, we need to update our license server with a hotfix. In order to do that, it needs Sp1. In order to do that, I need to find these files somewhere.
