Proceed like that: 1- Make sure that DNS records for the server are updated and that client computers are pointing to the correct DNS server 2- Make sure that you have no connectivity problems and there is no firewall or router filter that is blocking the traffic between the client computers and the server 3- Please try to create a new user and use this document to configure a roaming profile for it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316353 If you are able to create a roaming profile for this user and it is able to open a session using a such profile then you should have a problem in your configuration and the article I gave will help you to correct it (Try to you to use %username% instead of abcd). the first thing i would suggest is to go to a user's workstation who is having the problem and try to access the profile server and share. if you cannot access the server then use nslookup to rule out a resolution problem. if the server resolves but you cannot access it look for a network problem or recent network change. are all of the affected users on the same subnet, switch, etc? i know you said nothing has been changed, but unless you are the only person with admin rights for the entire network something could have been changed.

Hi, Could the user access the share folder manually? \\servername\profile$\abcd Please also check the shared folder permissions, Make sure the user has proper right to create folder and file. It’s suggested to configure NTFS permission of the shared folder as below: Administrators: Full Control System: Full Control Creator Owner: Full Control Everyone: Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read For detailed instruction, please refer to: Automatic creation of user folders for home, roaming profile and redirected folders. http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2008/06/30/automatic-creation-of-user-folders-for-home-roaming-profile-and-redirected-folders.aspx Thanks. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
