Cannot disable UAC
First of all, I've verified that I'm in the server's Administrators group.
I try to go thru the steps below, but I get stuck on step #4: Turn User Account Control on or off. When I get to that point this option simply does not exist. Instead I get the options: Change your picture, Chage
User Account Control Settings (which then goes to "always notify" to "never notify", and Manage Accounts.
So in short my question is how to turn off UAC, which in turn hopefully will get me around a SQL Server 18456 severity 14 error. Thanks.
To turn off UAC
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, click User Accounts.
In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts.
In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control on or off.
If UAC is currently configured in Admin Approval Mode, the User Account Control message appears. Click
Continue.
Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer
check box, and then click OK.
Click Restart Now to apply the change right away, or click
Restart Later, and then close the User Accounts tasks window.

Hi Bob,
Firstly, turning off UAC reduces the security of your computer and may expose you to increased risk from malicious software. We
do not recommend leaving UAC disabled.
