Cannot connect to reporting DFSR Windows 2003 R2
I have two servers one is named server2003 and the other is NAS When you run a dfsr report from server2003 an Error comes up and it goes something like this: Cannot connect to reporting DCOM server - The RPC server in Unavailable, but when the same reoprt is run from NAS everything is correct and there is no error. I have: Checked the services on NAS and they are running DCOM has been enabled. I would sure appreciate a little help. Sincerely, Rick Arnold, MCP Rick Arnold Arnoldconsult, MCP

Hi Rick, Here are some steps we can do: 1. Try to reboot both servers to see if it is a temp issue. 2. Try to disable firewall on both systems (including third party security program) temporarily to see if it is the cause. 3. Check if SP2 is installed on both servers. If not, try to install following hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908521/en-us 4. Check DNS to see if there is any missing record for both servers. For RPC related information, here is a KB article: Troubleshooting RPC Endpoint Mapper errors using the Windows Server 2003 Support Tools from the product CD http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839880
