Cannot access from Windows 7, Windows 2008 to Windows 2003 std SP2
Dear all, I have Windows 2003 Std SP2 running domain controller named: abc.com with IP 10.33.105.10 I did setup a new domain on Windows 2008 Std R2 named: def.com with IP 10.33.105.2 I get a trouble when i access \\10.33.105.10 by using Windows 7(workgroup) and Windows 2008 Std R2(running domain controller def.com) the problem appear as the picture http://pinlaptopvn.com/anh/1.JPG http://pinlaptopvn.com/anh/2.JPG How can i solve this issue ? did setup a new domain on Windows 2008 Std R2 named: def.com ?? Do you have new forest and new domain for windows 2008 r2 as mentione above if yes then you might have to do cross forest trust http://www.virmansec.com/blogs/skhairuddin

Yes, Windows 2008 Std R2 is new forest, but even i use IP to access 10.33.105.10 by \\10.33.105.10, the error still persit Thanks, Minh

I Found the root cause, i want to share the way to fix this problem, so that if the person met this problem they won't waste time to fix this issue The problem base on NTLMv2 authentcation, windows 7 and 2008 are using NTLMv2 authentcation, and windows XP and windows 2003 using NTLM authentcation, so that, take the steps below will be fixed Click the Start Menu, then “Run” Type “secpol.msc” Select Local Policies Select Security Options Find Network Security: LAN Manager From the drop down list, select: “Send LM & NTLM Responses” Go to Run/ and type gpupdate /force enter Regards, Minh
