Cannot Install Windows 2008 Beta 3
I have just received a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 32 and 64 bit Beta 3 DVD from Microsoft but when I insert this into a test server running Windows 2003, I get the message "Your computer cannot run this version of the Operating System". The server also fails to boot from this DVD. I can read the contents of the DVD and the server meets the minimum requirements for installation also. Any idea's why I can't install?

Have you chosen the right DVD, x64 for 64-bit hardware, x86 for 32-bit hardware?

There is only one DVD, labelled as previous post. I would assume this DVD contains both a 32 bit & 64bit. Checking the contents of the DVD, there are no separate folders for each. Ihave emailed Microsoft on this also.

Ah, sorry, misunderstood your post You could try downloading the beta and burning your own DVD, I know some cases where this has worked from other threads on this forum. Find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/default.mspx

Have you started here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/beta/lhs/default.mspx Login with a Windows Live ID, enter all information and then select the version you want?

Joachim, Yes done that, clicked GO button on first page, entered live ID, clicked continue on Standard Edition, then next screen displays Microsoft is processing your order. Please wait then page displays a Microsoft header and the word Error !! I think I'll just order another DVD !! Thanks.

If you already have the product key, go straight to Microsoft download center to download the ISO file: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d97e2060-36ad-4eaa-8b0b-dab2557b1eef&DisplayLang=en
