Can a DHCP Split Scope have non-contiguous address assignments?
My original DHCP scope is running out of addresses. Range: 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.99. My only next available range is 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.140 for this same subnet.
Will installing DHCP on another Server 2008 allow me to allocate this second range? Or must the scope of IPs be contiguous in DHCP?
Thanks!

Option #1: If you only need one DHCP server, then just change the scope properties and update the "End IP Address" to 192.168.0.140 and then create an exclusion range of 192.168.0.100-109.
Option #2: However, if you do want to introduce a second DHCP server for redundancy, then yes you can simply create a scope and have the available range set to 110-140.
Suggested Option: Now, if you do set up a second DHCP server, my recommendation is that you recreate the scope on the first server anyway. The scope range on both servers should be the same: 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.254,
assuming a 24 bit subnet mask.
Then on the first server, you create an exclusion range of 192.168.0.100-254. On the second range, create the following exclusions: 192.168.0.1-109, and 192.168.0.141-254.
The reason is that this will allow you to create DHCP reservations outside of the range on one of the two servers since reservations would have to be created on both systems. There is an issue with 2008 R2 DHCP if you dont do it this way. Read

your question is if you add another dhcp server?
if yes ,u can add the scope with range 100-140,or better add the range 10-140 and make a reservation for 10-109 on the second dhcp server .

Hello,
You can add a second server that will respond DHCP clients and give them IP addresses.
The most important thing that both DHCP servers will not be in conflit.
So, for the scope on the second server, you can add 192.168.0.110 - 192.168.0.140 scope and exclude all other left IP addresses.
Once done, don't forget to authorize the DHCP server.
