So, is there is some policy to exchange my 2008 version with 2003 server ? Yes. Included with a Windows Server 2008 license is the right to run an instance of any previous version of Windows Server (also referred to as a downgrade or downgrade instance) in place of an instance of Windows Server 2008. You need to buy a media kit for the previous version of Windows Server though. The mediakit includes the installation media (CD, DVD) and a product key to activate the product.A media kit van be purchased for a fraction of the price of a fully licensed Windows Server.(Since you've already purchased the license itself) More information: Windows Server 2008 Downgrade Rights
