Can I delete the .eml files from the Forefront Archive in/out folders

Hi,

I would like to find out if I were to copy the contents (.eml files) of this folder to another directory and then
remove old contents from this folder, would this have any impact in the exchange services at all?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Security\Exchange Server\Data\Archive\in

The folder is like 60GB and I really need to clear some space.

We are running Forefront Protection Exchange 2010. Exchange Server 2007 SP3.

Hello,

is there a "_ReadMeFirst.txt" file in that directory?

I'm thinking the .eml files are there as they were caught by one of your filters.

On Exchange 2010 SP3 I have the following folder;

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server\Data\Archive\ADF

That folder has the readme file with:

"This folder is the destination that receives live malware that you may want to use for analysis purposes. Please exercise EXTREME caution when opening any file contained in this folder."

So, I'd delete any mail in that folder.

Your mileage may vary.
