Can't log in to Windows Server 2008
Hello,I have Windows Server 2008 installed on my laptop. Yesterday, I slaved a hard drive to it to scan for viruses. Now, when I try to log in, I enter the password and hit log in and I get the error message "request not supported." I can log in in safe mode fine. I've had this problem with Vista business before, but i just used system restore to correct it. I have tried to enable/restart services, to restore from the install disk, and the scan the file system for errors. I can't view the server manager (event viewer) in safe mode. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello, I suggest performing a Clean Boot in Safe Mode. 1. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility. Note: Please click Continue if the "User Account Control" window pops up. 2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". 4. Restart the computer and test the issue. Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK". Please test this issue in the Clean Boot environment. If the issue disappears, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue. If the issue persists, I would like to know whether your computer is in a domain and whether you are using a domain account to logon the computer. If so, I suggest disjoining the computer from the domain and then rejoining it. Hope it helps. Tim Quan - MSFT
