Can't install ICS after unistalling RRAS
We have a very old machine with Windows Server 2008. It's used only for giving access to Internet to a small number of computers, using ICS. A few days ago I tried to use this server as a NAT router enabling RRAS on it. It worked, but we inmediatly realize that the Internet access speeds fall down dramatically. I thought that this was normal, because RRAS uses much more resources than ICS, and the server is very old one (PIII 500 with 2 GB). So we decide to get back to ICS, but we can't. We have uninstalled completly the RRAS rol, and we have restarted the server several times, but when we try to share the network connection of the outside NIC, we recibe an error message telling us that RRAS is still installed. We need to solve this problem because with NAT we have a totally unusable access to Internet (we have continuos response times of 1000 and 1200 ms to google for example). I have seen this same question in the forums, and the answer is always "Use RRAS", but we can't use RRAS in the actual circunstances. We need to get back to ICS. Thanks.
