Can't install ANY PROGRAMS on a Server 2003 Standard Edition
I have run a Standard Edition Windows Server 2003 for years with no problems. I can no longer install ANY program, even the "FixIt" program. I get a similar Runtime Error as I do when trying to install any other program.
The error I get with "FixIt" is ..... Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! C:\Windows\temp\RunB...
The errors gotten with ALL other program install attempts is .... Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe
I have tried dozens of solutions from Microsoft's support site with no luck. I have downloaded and replaced all the dll files, exe files, etc indicated in those solutions to no avail.
The only thing I have found was an article concerning the Microsoft ProClarity program (kb 2003976) where it mentions renaming several dll files related to the C++Library. I didn't want to do this until I asked someone. I don't want to crash the server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
