Hi all,

I have a HyperV server (W2008 SP2 64bit) with 2 virtual machines and each of this OS is connected to domain.

In HyperV administrator/virtual network options is one virtual network as extern (joined to physical adapter).

With this settings, I am not able to connect to any shared folder in my domain, but only from Hyper-V machine. From virtual machines works all fine. If I clear this virtual network, then it works. Outside connections to HyperV shared folders are ok.

I checked all of network settings, tried to switch LAN-adapters, remove from domain, but without an succes until now.

Can anyone give me an advice, where could be the problem?

Froim the way I read your problem, it sounds like you have taken the physical NIC on the Hyper-V host that you used to connect the Hyper-V host to the domain.  Then you created a virtual switch on that NIC, but did not select for the host operating system to have access to the virtual switch, but there is not enough information in your explanation to be sure.

Please provide more information about your configuration.  How many physical NICs on the Hyper-V host?  What is the IP configuration for the physical host when you have the virtual switch defined?  When it is not defined? (ipconfig /all output would be helpful).  What virtual switches have you created on which physical NICs?

thanks for your reply. Yes, is it exactly so. Physical NIC on the Hyper-V was connected to domain and then created virtual switch on that.

To Your questions:

- Hyper-V host has 2 physical NICs (only one is connected to network)

- the IP configuration is automatically set through DHCP reservation (domain controller)

- there is only one virtual switch created on the "connected" physical NIC and set as "extern" connection, nothing else
