Can't add azure ad connect health to azure

Hi,

I purchased Azure AD Conect Health for my PAYG Azure subscription, having purchased Azure AD Premium. The license on Azure AD states Premium, however, when I try to add Azure AD Premium to my subscription (in the new portal) I get this error:

AZURE ACTIVE DIRECTORY LICENSE Premium <svg class="msportalfx-svg-placeholder" focusable="false" role="img" viewBox="0 0 16 16"><g><path d="M10.8,8H5.2V6.1c0-0.8,0.3-1.8,0.7-2.3C6.4,3.4,7.4,3.1,8,3.1c0.6,0,1.6,0.3,2.1,0.8s0.7,1.2,0.7,2V8h2.4V6 c0-1.3-0.5-2.6-1.3-3.5C11.1,1.6,9.3,1,8,1S4.9,1.6,4.1,2.5C3.3,3.4,2.8,4.6,2.8,6v2h0C1.6,8,1.2,8.7,1.2,9.6v4.8 c0,0.8,0.5,1.6,1.4,1.6h10.8c1,0,1.4-0.8,1.4-1.6V9.6c0-0.8-0.3-1.6-1.6-1.6h0H10.8z"></path></g></svg>

You are required to have Azure Active Directory Premium license to be able to create and use Azure Active Directory Connect Health.

Please advise?

Hi,

I purchased Azure AD Premium for my PAYG Azure subscription. The license on Azure even states Premium, however, when I try to add Azure AD Premium (logged in as a global admin) to my subscription (in the new portal) I get this error:

You are required to have Azure Active Directory Premium license to be able to create and use Azure Active Directory Connect Health

This is contradictory. Please advise how to get around this.

HI,

You will need to first activate your license plan before you can start assigning licenses from within your Azure Active Directory directory. To do this, you must click on either the Sign In or Sign Up link found in the confirmation email (see below) you will receive after your very first license plan purchase has been completed. On any subsequent purchase for this directory the licenses will automatically be activated in the same directory.

For more information, check this link:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/azure/dn499825.aspx

If you have already done this, then I would request you to follow the steps from this link to install Azure Active Directory Connect Health and check if it helps:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/606ff15e-3970-4837-a261-0a1c6819fc80#BKMK_1

If that doesn't help, then I would suggest you contact Billing support, it's free, and it's the best choice for you.
Please contact support team by creating a support ticket at:

They will be able to help you with this request.

Hope this helps.

Hi khanAzam,

Is this resolved? If not, could you please try again by removing the Azure AD Premium license to the global admin account and re assign it?

Thanks

Along with having the AAD Premium license on your tenant, you also need to make sure that the user (has to be Global admin as well) is ALSO assigned an AAD Premium license. As pointed out by others, you can go to Licenses tab in the Directory section and assign the user a license.
