Can't Install a Program on 2K8/R2
I really hate to appear stupid, but I can't get a third party program to load its license file. I receive the dreaded "The system cannot find the file specified. [2]" error, even though I'm looking right at the file, both by viewing it in Windows Explorer
and browsing to it with the licensing section of the application. Said program has loaded the license key just find on every 2K3/R2 system.
So, what's changed in 2K8 that has me stumped? Sorry to ask something that may have been answered before, too. My search showed thousands of posts about this error, but after going through a couple of hundred, nothing suggested makes any difference.
Thanks in advance!

Try granting Full Control on that file to Everyone, you can try to do the same on parent folder - it is not secure setup but can help.
You should also contact software vendor from which you purchase the app they should be able to help youWith kind regards

Hi Server2k3_Holdout
What is the software called?
Have you had a look on the 3rd partys website / forum to see if this has been reported by other users?
Also does the 3rd party piece of software say that it is compatible with Server 2008?
Many thanks

Secure Copy, version 4.11 - no longer supported by the vendor. They've moved on to a newer rev.
I hate to say this, but it just might be one of those, "Well - too bad" kind of things.

Best thing to do is contact the Software vendor and ask them if they can help.
They maybe able to offer you an "upgrade" to the latest version, which does specify it works with Windows Server 2008 and R2 under the system requirements.

Oh, there's an upgrade alright - for a pretty hefty fee.
