CPU for SSAS

Hello,

I'm in the process of building a server that will host SSAS. The cube size is about 100GB and some of the queries are intensive.

I have to choose between a newer CPU with slower clock speed and an older with higher clock speeds. Which would you choose (assuming same disk and RAM for both):

2 x Intel Xeon Westmere E5646 6C/12T 2.4-2.67GHz (older)

or

2 x Intel Xeon Sandy Bridge E5-2620 2.00Ghz 7.2GT/s (newer)

Thanks,

Gil

I think the newer one is really 2.5Ghz turbo boost?  Plus it has 15MB L3 cache.  The older one has 12MB.

I'd probably go with the newer one.  I'd also suggest investing in a Fusion-IO card... and put the whole cube on it.
