CANNOT CONNECT TO SECOND SERVER'S SHARES
Problem: I have an active directory domain controller Windows 2003 Server which acts as a DHCP server, DNS Server, and Domain Controller. We will call this DC1. Problem is, I also have another Windows 2003 Server computer, We will call this DFS1, on the same domain, without Active Directory installed, which has shared files, WHICH NOBODY CAN CONNECT TOO . I have tried give Administrative privileges to all users on both servers, and still cannot connect to the "DFS1" Servers shares. Seems to me that this may be a domain security issue, but need some insight. PLEASE HELP!! DFS1 can access the internet and access the shares on DC1, but workstations cannot access the shares on DFS1. I Can also ping DFS1 from any workstation. Thanks

Hello,i assume DFS1 is domain member. Please post an unedited ipconfig /all from DFS1, DC1 and a client so we can exclude DNS asa problem. How do you try to connect to the share:\\dfs1\sharename or \\ipaddress\sharenameAlso post the share permissions AND NFTS permissions from the shared folder.Best regards

Hi Net_Tech_Mike,Meinolf's inquery makes sense.Besides that, can you check if there install a symantec endpoint antivirus on that server in question? I see lots of CIFS/SMB access problems caused by symantec. Thanks and Regards,ScorprioMCTS: Windows Vista | Exchange Server 2007
