CAL and Volume Licensing questions
Hello allI've recently purchased: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise edition w/ Hyper-V 8 device CAL's 2 volume licenses for Vista/XP Pro 3 volume licenses for Office 2007 Pro I've created our network pertaining of: One physical server w/ 2008 Enteprise (Core) as the host OS;and three (2) 2008 Enteprise virtual (guest) machines. Active Directory running Three desktops running XP Pro. One of these should be using a purchased XPlicense. The others were previously purchased. Two laptops running XP Pro. Previously purchased. One laptop running Vista Business. Previoucsly purchased. Possibly another 2 remote machines running XP Pro. My question is about how to do licensing:1. How do I actually activate the server license I have? My understanding is that because I'm running 3 machines virtually, the same license can be used for all.2. How do I activate the CAL's? How do I tell Windows which machines should be using the device CAL's? I've not been able to find any info on this.3. How do I activate the volume license (assume MKS is the way to go, given the size of our network) FROM a Server 2008 machine TO an XP Promachine? I can only find info on Volume Activation 2.0 which deals with 2008 Server and Vista (not XP).4. When I get there, how do I deploy volume licenses for Office 2007?Any help appreciated!ThanksTom
