We recently had a recurring situation where a Server was randomly freezing when a rogue process seemed to be usinging all available memory.
I eventually tracked this down to an error in a cmd file which ran a report, the simple error was that a developer had a superflous ^ symbol (the line joining character) at the last line and last character of the file with no line ending.
Sure enough if you create a simple file in notepad "echo ^" <- with no enter / no line end and run it then the cmd.exe process consumes all resources.
I wanted to report this as a bug but couldn't easily find a way of doing so.
Thanks
