Bug: Windows Server 2008 IA64
System Specs. IBM x382 (Dual Itanium 1.4Ghz (not montecito), Intel E8870 chipset) 2GB ECC RAM 73GB IBM Hard Drive Logitech Keyboard A very annoying bug keeps happening; lowercase p has the same effect as pressing ALT-TAB ! In whatever application I am using, if I press lowercase p, the character isn't displayed, and the next process is brought into focus. No other keys are having that effect; and the keyboard worked fine under Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition. A couple ofother things: I really enjoyed the upgrade process. I put the dvd disk in; and 15 minutes later, Windows Server 2008 was ready. The boot manager was automatically installed in the EFI, unlike Windows Server 2003. There is no Windows logo in the startup screen. What happened to character map? Thanks for making this OS! Ryan Beckett

Have you tried with another keyboard? (Just a check...)

The problem isn't the keyboard; but explorer.exe. I can have several programs open (eg. notepad, VC++, calculator) and pressing lowercase p works fine. However, as soon as I browse my computer (or any other location), then lowercase p turns into an annoying ALT-TAB. Thanks for your response. Ryan Beckett
