Boot from LAN
I'm looking to have a bootable tools disc I've created booted over the network so I don't have to deal with media anymore in a bench technician environment. I understand that RIS can handle OS installations, but is there a possibility of it handling a remote boot of a non-OS CD or ISO image? I really need a quick answer on this one, my boss is breathing down my neck to remove the need for flashdrives/cd's in the shop. If RIS is not the answer, what would you recommend? The people on Technet have been WONDERFUL in my experience, this will always be the first place to which I turn. Thanks

Take a look at Windows Deployment Services. You can run it on Windows Server 2008 or download it for Windows Server 2003 here http://www.microsoft.com/DownLoads/details.aspx?familyid=941D4393-AB37-4047-B9C5-616B79D73301&displaylang=enWhat you need is a DHCP server and clients that are able to PXE boot withtheir networkcard.
