Blue Screen of Death on a Windows XP
Hi I currently got the most annoying thing that you can get on a Window Server, a Blue Screen. When I turn on my computer it would show the microsoft logo and loading thing but then I would get cut off by the blue screen. I couldn't bring up anything (Even the menu for rebooting) except for F8 during the turn on, (The one where it would say -Safe Mode, Safe Mode w/ Networking, Last Known Good Configuration). I tried selecting each and everyone of these but before my windows started up the blue screen came.I was browsing on Wikipedia before my computer got the blue screen and ever since then I couldnt start up the windows. I didnt install any new programs for the last 3 months on the computer, no softwares, no games, nothing. Its really frustrating cause now I'm stuck with niether buying a new computer or get stuck with an extreme slow/old one.Can anyone please tell me how to fix this, any ideas? Thanks

Please post the error message that you get on the BSOD, which will help us determine what goes wrong. If none of the options work it's a reinstall approaching. If you have documents you need on the computer you could either download a recovery cd from internet (mostly linux-based) and save the documents or take the harddrive and put it in another computer and save your documents before reinstalling.Technet Forums Moderator | Senior Specialist

Did you boot the Windows XP system into Safe Mode after Blue Screen occurred? If not please try it.Generally, the blue screen and auto restarting issue can be a kernel mode crash issue. We can disable auto restarting using the following method: Control Panel -> System -> Advanced system settings. On the Advanced tab, click Settings below Startup and Recovery. Uncheck the box before Automatically restart and click OK. Then the computer will not restart automatically. Instead, a blue screen will appear. Please understand that to troubleshoot the blue screen/auto restarting issues, we usually need to perform debugging. However, in this forum, we do not provide debugging support. If you would like to perform debugging, please contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS). To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request, please refer to the website listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS If you are outside the US, please refer to http://support.microsoft.com for regional support phone numbers. Thanks Syed Khairuddin

Yeah I tried safe mode and everything else in the advanced boot option. After I select it it would show a lot of numbers and then the blue screen. The main problem is that I cant even get inside the window, the blue screen always pops up before I can get in. Thanks for trying to help though
