BizTalk 2013 R2 Standard on SQL cluster

Hi,

I'm asked to do a BizTalk installation and based on the requirements there is no need for High Availability and the number of interfaces is limited for now. So I'd suggest to use a standard version of BizTalk 2013 R2.

There is a clustered SQL-infrastructure available. Is a BizTalk Entreprise EDition needed to instal the BizTalk Server Database on this cluster?

Thanks

Tom

No.  BizTalk Standard Edition will work just fine with a clustered SQL Server.

However, for various reasons, a BizTalk Server installation requires at least a dedicated Instance of SQL Server.

Do not install the BizTalk databases, particularly the MessageBox, into an existing or otherwise shared SQL Server Instance.
