BizTalk2013

Hi!

At a customer they have SCOM2012 R2 and the BizTalk2010 MP version 7.0.389.0. They have three BizTalk2010 servers and they is monitoring correctly through the BizTalk2010 MP.

Now they also have two BizTalk2013 R2 servers. When they installed the SCOM agent, this BizTalk2013 R2 servers was monitoring as BizTalk2010 servers.

Yesterday I was at the customer and installed BizTalk2013 MP version 7.0.1033.0.

Now to our strange problems:

  • The BizTalk2013 R2 servers is still monitored as BizTalk2010 and not at all as BizTalk2013.
  • One of the BizTalk2010 servers were found as a BizTalk2013 from the BizTalk2013 MP.

An attempt to solve this problem we uninstall the SCOM agent on one of the BizTalk2013 server and then install the agent again. Still the same BizTalk2010 is monitored through the BizTalk2010 and BizTalk2013 MP. The new installed agent BizTalk2013 server is not found through BizTalk2010 or BizTalk2013 MP.

We run the same Run As Account as for BizTalk2010 that have the same rights on BizTalk2010 and BizTalk2013 servers.

Anyone that have any idea on how to solve this problem?

Hi,

Do you mean the agent show as not monitored? An agent can also show as not monitored because the new agent has the same NetBIOS name as a previously installed agent. When the agent is deleted from Operations Manager, the grooming of the deleted agent is occurs after two days. Therefore, the agent is not immediately groomed out of the database completely. To work around this limitation, wait three days after deleting the agent to install the new agent.

Based on my research, the Display Names in both MPs are the same, so when you have BizzTalk Server
2010 and 2013 in place and want to monitor both, youll end up with DOUBLE names in the SCOM Console.

In addition, here is a helpful article regarding to monitoring Biztalk, you may go through it.

When the BizTalk Management Pack for Operations Manager does well, nothing.
