Bitlocker Disables RAID Repair

My server is running Windows Server 2012 R2 x64. The motherboard has two built-in disk arrays. A Marvell RAID 1 mirror with two disks being used for the system disk, and an Intel Rapid Storage Technology RAID 5 using six disks (one is a hot spare) being used for data storage.  These RAIDs had no problem automatically repairing the arrays until I recently encrypted them with Bitlocker.  I have a TPMv2 chip on the motherboard, and I saved a duplicate of the keys on a USB stick and on printed paper.

While doing my semi-annual dusting, I accidently disconnected three of my drives.  The automatic RAID repair failed on both arrays.  I couldn't successfully initiate the RAID repairs manually.  I suspected Bitlocker, so I decrypted all of my disk arrays and was able to redefine the arrays from scratch and recover from my decrypted backup tape.

It seems that Bitlocker doesn't play well with o

The Marvell RAIDs supported on the ASUS P6 X58-E WS are feces.  When a disk gets an error, the system does a power reset rather than fix the problem in the background.  It might try to fix or repair the RAID after the reset, but that POWER RESET is likely going to corrupt the RAID data.  No recommendations for Marvell RAIDS from me!

My old HP servers (LH3r), were equipped with an HP/Adaptec SCSI RAID controller which fixed disk errors flawlessly.  Unfortunately that was the old reliable high-quality HP before Carly Farenina (sp) devastated it.
