I have a full backup scheduled at 12.00AM ET and have a batch import on 11.55PM(5 min before full backup) which takes 30min to complete .Will the backup cover the data which is being imported?

That totally depends on whether backup reads the pages before chnage is made and transaction commits while backup is running. There is no full proof way to check it. To be on safer side schedule the job  before backup

It depends on the finished time of the backup. Check the backup job what time it was finished.

If your back up job finished after 12:25 am then you will have imported data. If it is early say 12:20 you will have all imported data until 12:20 no matter if it is commited or open.
