I want to get the list of VM templates (i.e. Basic_A0, Basic_A1, Standard_A0, etc.) provided by Azure and their configurations. 

Do we have any API or documentation mentioning the same?

Are you referring to VM sizes instead of templates?

There is also the commandlet in PowerShell Get-AzureVMImage that will list out all of the images available however each image can be used in various sized virtual machines depending upon image type and location.  Different geos offer different sizes and availability.
