Availlable Physical mempry too low?
Hello, I have Vista 32 bit 4GB installed RAM. I ran the msinfo32 and the results are: Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB Total Physical Memory 3.00 GB Available Physical Memory 1.60 GB Total Virtual Memory 6.91 GB Available Virtual Memory 5.48 GB Page File Space 4.00 GB My availible memory is going to be less than installed beasure of address limits mapping etc, but is 1.6 GB left after this a reasonable amount or is something wrong? Any opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Your memory results look perfect to me. It is usual that Vista will use as much of the memory as it needs to. It's surprising you have that much free. Don't worry, even if it drops to 0.5GB, that is by design. There is nothing wrong!

First of all you should ask that question on Windows Client Forum becasue it is Vista related. Second noone can tell you if your memory usage is correct, because it depends on application running on your system. Run task manager, choose show processes from all users, and check what is eating your RAM.With kind regards Krystian Zieja http://www.projectenvision.com Follow me on twitter My Blog Need help with your systems?

Ah I misunderstood what it meant, I thought it was the memory availible for the system to use not the free memory after deducting that in use for processes. Sorry post is in wrong place, I just clicked 'ask quection'after reading a similar post, must have been for server. Thanks
