Automatically detect setting fail on different domain
Dear all,
I would like to use "automatically detect settins" for my proxy setting in our network, but it fail to detect while the client is sitting on a different subnet from the proxy server
How can I make it work??? I have doing some research, is it possible for using "wpad" Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol.
Thanks you
Man

Hello,
for automatic discovery, you can proceed using three possible ways:
Create a WPAD entry in DNS: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc995062.aspx
Create a WPAD entry in DHCP: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc940962(WS.10).aspx
Configure AD for automatic discovery: Use TMGAdConfig.exe to perform that
More if you ask in TMG / ISA server forums like Syed already suggested.
Note that if AD is configured automatic discovery, it is recommended to not use WPAD on DHCP or DNS.
