Authentication problems after upgrading Server 2003 SP1 x64 to SP2
I remotely installed SP2 onto an existing DC running Windows Server 2003 SP1 x64. This domain is in a stand-alone/secure network with NO internet connectivity. After successful installation of SP2 the server came back up after rebooting, with all file shares and services available to the domain again. However, I could not use RDP to remotely log into it any longer (the error stated RDP may not be enabled on remote machine, however remotely connecting to the registry on that server showed RDP was actually enabled). After eventually being able to physically visit the machine (offsite across town), I logged on and immediately received an error stating there were problems authenticating Windows (obviously due to no internet access at all). The server then logs me off automatically. Is (re)authentication after SP2 installation a requirement? And if so, how am I able to authenticate given the lack of connectivity? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Regards
