Please check whether you have a compatible audio hardware on the Windows 2003 server. http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/. If its compatible download the latest drivers from the vendors website and try installing it and also recommend you to fully update your server before installing the drivers. Hi, What is the brand and model of the Audio card? To install the audio driver in Windows Server 2003, use either of the following methods: Method 1. Automatically update the driver via Device Manager. 1) Click Start, click Run. 2) Type: devmgmt.msc in the run box. 3) Expand “Sound, video and game controller” 4) Right click the sound card, click Update driver. 5) Follow the wizard to search the sound driver. Method 2. Manually download the audio driver via Vendor’s website or directly contact the Vendor to get the sound driver for Windows Server 2003. I am not too sure why you are installing audio drivers on windows 2003 as its not really meant to be a multimedia system. Have you tried checking services. By default the audio services is normally disabled. Start > Run -> type Services.msc In Services, scroll down until you find "Windows Audio" and change the startup type to Automatic > Apply > Start > OK Then go back to Start > Run > type dxdiag Then go to the Sound tab and move the slider on "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" to Full Acceleration. Did this work?

Hi, I donot think Brand Servers will have builtin sounds cards. If are using windows 2003 on normal PC. Check the brand and model then download the compatible OS audio drivers from the vendor website. Thanks.
